Friday evening was a warm summer evening, and as an hobby-related errand took me within blocks of Madison Square Park, there was clearly only one logical choice for supper: The Shake Shack. So much has been written about this concession stand in the park that it has become a contemporary icon of consumption. created by chef Danny Meyer’s company, it delivers delicious versions of the standards: burgers, dogs, fries and killer shakes.

Our meal was more than filling and much enjoyed al fresco: a shack burger, fries and a regular black and white (milkshake) for me; a second city birdwurst, fries and large black and white for Jay. Mmmmm…
