Thanks to supportive supervisors, both Jay and I were able to take the day off on Friday, turning the tense business of trying to get across town, to the doctor and back to creche and work, with early creche closure a probability… into a calm and enjoyable day.
We had a brilliant family day, romping in the snow in Central Park, eating chocolate three ways for lunch, and exploring the universe and the world of dinosaurs at the American Museum of Natural History. And Mr C behaved beautifully.
Today our trial music class was cancelled, so we suited up (really, it’s been too long since donning my learn-to-snowboard gear) and stomped our way around the island, enjoying the aftermath of 21 inches of snow. It’s lasted better here than on Manhattan, fields of white, fluffy snow. Perfect for making snowballs (but who to throw them at? Calvin too small and Jay too retaiatory), and ideal for making snowmen… or if the inspiration strikes… snowbunnies!
