Threat of precipitation put beach recuperation plans on hold
Call me a wuss, but with the weather outside looking decidedly grey — think blanket cloud coverage and a likelihood of precipitation at 60% — I decided that the couch, not Connecticut, was the best horizontal location for today.
Actually, you should just call me a South African. When you come from a nation of almost perfect weather (especially in the Highveld where I grew up), anything less than perfect weather is reason enough to stay home.
Take, for example, the difficulty one encounters sometimes in getting together with friends for movies in SA when the weather is not co-operating. Despite the fact that you’re driving from your house, to a shopping centre which more than likely has underground parking, the rain acts as an effective detterrent.
Sigh. What do miss right now? The blessing of perfect weather.
