Every Thursday since Calvin was 5 weeks old, we’ve headed uptown to the Upper West Side to enjoy the sagacity and sanity saving company of four fellow new moms and their babes.
Together we’ve progressed from babes in arms to independent sitters, crawlers and cruisers. Calvin and I have benefitted from the friendship and shoulders; and as the youngest baby in the group, from everyone’s experience.
Today was the first and, of course, ongoing Thursday that we missed the get together. He’s going to feel the loss of watching the clever things those other babies can do (and the advantaged gender balance of hanging out with three lovely lasses with only one other boy!) and I’m going to miss the laughs and support of those four smart women.
