It’s what some sources dub the ‘golden age’ of infancy — your baby can sit unsupported, select toys and amuse themselves, but they can’t yet crawl! i.e. independently get into mischief. Our little C, sporting his ever more visible duo of dentes, is at just this stage. Yesterday morning I shot a short video snippet of him trying to work out how to crawl. Just how much longer it will be before he works it out is anyone’s guess, but it can’t be much longer.

He has already worked out numerous yoga moves that would make less flexible folk wince and then wonder in envy. Holding plank pose isn’t that difficult then? So that’s why it’s called happy baby! How many times can you alternate between down dog and chattaranga? And more cardio kickstarting for us, he has also worked out how to claw his way up to standing against our sofa.

To paraphrase Van Morrison, here’s to more days like this:
When you don’t need to worry, there’ll be days like this
When no ones in a hurry, there’ll be days like this
When everything falls into place like the flick of a switch
Oh my mama told me there’ll be days like this
