Driving through neighbourhoods we saw some lovely decorations, including this distinct, blue Christmas tree.

I spent this week  in Ohio with family and got to enjoy many gifts:

  • Time with my immediate family to just hang out, relax and go repeatedly to the county museum for Calvin to play with the train exhibits
  • Time with my mom, who, equipped with a down coat and boots was well prepared for her first white Christmas. One blizzard down, a below freezing fortnight to go
  • Time with our extended family around dinner tables and Christmas trees, with Calvin delighting in bonding with his cousins
  • And an obscene amount of gifts under the tree, but even that bounty was diminished by the warmth and love of being near many, but not all, of those you count closest

Hope yours was merry too — somehow the year got away from me and so those Christmas cards are likely to be… ready for Groundhog Day. Meanwhile, here are the festive highlights. Click here to see the Flickr photo album.
