Cookies are ready to go...
I can’t believe that I’ve been so side tracked that I have not updated my blog in many weeks. Okay. I actually can believe it. And who knows, perhaps one day this year I’ll be able to post about the issue that has consumed vast hours of our time of late. Until then, it is right on time to wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day.
Happy to share that were inspired to bake cookies for an entire class of 18. Four sticks of butter, two cups of sugar, two eggs, 3 teaspoons of vanilla essence and four cups of flour later and we have the predictable heart shaped cookies, along with a smattering of Star Wars cookies. So some friends will hopefully be delighted by biting into a Millennium Falcon. (The Death Star makes a pretty awesome cookie, FWIW.)
The recipe? I’ve defected from my old standard, the roll cookies recipe in ‘The Joy of Cooking’ to the recipe that came with out cookie cutter set from culinary store, Williams Sonoma. In fact, we’ve cook- and taste-tested our way through a fair number of the recipes in their catalogues and they are truly delicious.
Well, must go…I hear an odd-shaped tie fighter cookie beckoning me…
