Ever wondered what kind of view you can get from the rarified 38th floor of the UN Secretariat building? i.e. the top floor, a.k.a. where the Secretary General has his working pad? Me too.

Fortunately, I found my one degree of separation connection and made my way up to see for myself. It’s a cool view looking east over the river and west over the city.

It’s also an interesting reflection of the hierarchy of the UN. Many of the buildings in the immediate vicinity, that can be seen in the photo, are home to UN agencies and bodies. You’ll note they’re a lot shorter. A different kind of perspective. See the building in the front right with the green roof? That would be where I work.
